The Company
Endev ltd. is a Finnish cleantech company founded in 2011. We offer solutions that turn sewage sludge and industrial sludges into usable heat and nutrients. Our team has over one hundred years of combined expertise in the development of thermal processes. The core of our solutions is the innovative and patented technology combining a circulating mass dryer and a circulating mass reactor. The technology has been tested thoroughly with good results at our test facility in the city of Kotka. Currently, our modernized R&D plant is in the town of Pyhtää.
Our first full-scale facility was built next to the wastewater treatment plant of Rovaniemi city, which is operated by Napapiirin Energia ja Vesi (NEVE) ltd., a local water and energy utility company. The industrial scale-up of the technology was proven successful, and the facility has been in operation since 2019. The pilot project was granted the status of a key project in nutrient recycling by the Finnish Ministry of the Environment.
We at Endev believe in a future where today’s waste streams are seen as valuable resources. Sludge, a by-product of the wastewater treatment process, is currently considered a type of biomass waste that needs to be disposed of in one way or another. We, on the other hand, regard sludge as a renewable resource that should be utilized for renewable energy and nutrient recovery. Therefore, our vision is to change the public view on sludge. We aim to do this by providing cost-efficient solutions for managing and utilizing sludge streams on industrial scales. Our innovative technology can turn sludge into sustainable energy and valuable nutrients while eliminating hazardous contaminants.
Our technology offers a compact, cost-efficient, and scalable solution for the thermal treatment of wet biomass.
